In politics he allied himself with the Republican party.Early in life Mr. Jones gave his life in the service of his God and for about sixty years he was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, transferring his membership to the Galva Methodist church in 1865. During the period of his church membership he was very faithful in attendance at all services. For many years he was one of the church officials. He cared for all the great work of the church and faithfully performed any tasks that fell upon him.The community has been helped and uplifted very much by the worthy life that Mr. Jones lived. As a soldier for the country and for thechurch he was ever true.Besides the members of his ownfamily who are without his excellent companionship there is left one brother, C. D. Jones, * of Los Angeles, California. His brother, Dr. M. J.' Jones, died in Chicago last February.The funeral service was held, at,the late home at 2:00 o'clock, being in charge of Rev. H. M. Blooomer, vhe pastor of the deceased.
