Powers Says the Secretary of the Pennsylvania State League Is an Ass—Scranton Has a Good Club but Needs Team Work and En couragement — Allentown Players Sign Eastern League Contracts. Everything is sergne in the Eastern league says Presidit Pat Powers, in the first place the rocky Bingham ton club has been replaced by Allen town and the Erie Blackbirds will be probably transferred to Toronto before Monday morning. Every club in the legue is making money with the ex ception of Erie and there are applica tions on file from Rochester, Newark, New Haven, Worcester, Raiding and Harrisburg for any vacancy that may occur, in relation to the Diddlehook bog bear, Mr. Powers and ton TRinuNeree wortwr: “TL have been advised by the atsonal board that Diddlevook has file a longfat of charges against me and that I need not worry my head over them, I have been governed in all my actions in connection with the admission of the Pennsylvania State leayue clubs by the adview and counsel of members of the National board, especially President Byrnes, of the Brooklyn club. Allentown has secured Doryea, of Binghamton, and both Mulgery and Mulligan signed Eastern league con tracts last night, Sweeney, the only other kicker who is wanted, will comm on today. Word was sent after him last night armed with endorsements that will no doubt bring him back into the Kelly fold. The Allentown aggre gation will hela after be known as the Yonkers club. They will play all their home games on the New York Polo grounds, opening up there with Buffalo on Sept. 7. The schedule will be ar ranged so that Yonkers and New York fames will not conflict.
