Vickrey, for the office of Representative, is one of tiie outrages of the Cicero township convention. lie lias been an anient and faithful supporter of the Democratic party juj Tipton county for thirty years. He has conducted himself in liU long citizenship to win the esteem of the entire people of the county, hut he was too honorable in; his race to resort to anything that- was illegitimate to secure a nomination. To biui an honorable defeat is much more preferable than a dishonorable nomination, When long service in the party and superior qualifications are wot taken into consideration, there is little hope of securing honest and fair nomination*.
