Selena QuintanillaSelena Quintanilla has emerged as the hottest female singer in the growing Tejano music industry. For the last three years, Quintanilla has dominated the female categories at the annual Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio, held at the Convention Arena, usually attended by more than 13,000 fans and music industry representatives.Signed to the Capitol/EMI Latin label, Quintanilla is already an established artist in the international Spanish market and is poised for crossover music and video efforts into the English markets.Quintanilla is on tour year-round, performing in the mainstay dance halls, nightclubs, and ballrooms of the Southwest. However, she also tours throughout California, Oregon, Washington, and other Pacific states as well as the Midwest and Florida.In 1990, Quintanilla was signed on to a promotional contract with Coca-Cola USA as a celebrity artist and spokeswoman. She is featured in Coca-Cola spots tided “Sabor Tejano” and “All About the Real Thing” airing on Spanish-language radio stations as well as English-language stations in selected markets.Quintanilla, 20, was bom in Freeport, Texas but makes her home in Corpus Christi. She and her band, Los Dinos, are managed by her father, Abraham Quintanilla.
