The Mayor said money set up for building a warehouse could be diverted, if the city garage were used for a warehouse.After the discusion, the board approved unanimously Mr. Lay-ton’t motion to authorize $857 for purchase of bleachers, and to appoint a committee to make general recommendations for improving City Stadium. The committee included Kelly Dixon, Hilton Ruth. C. ,T. Carpenter, Jr., Fteete McCurdy, Sam Collins and Hugh Ormand.Cancelling of the account a-gainst the owners of Davidson Heights followed a statement of Fred J. Wright, Sr., that his son and son-in-.Iaw, the owmers, had asked aid of the Herndon administration, after the septic tanks at the houses proved defective. He said it was the estimate of Hie members of the Herndon administration that cost of the pipe and the cost of the Installation would balance off and that there was never any Intention of either party receiving any money. He also stated that it was the engineering opinion that the method of installation used would save much cost, due to the considerable variance In the depth of the Watteraon Street sewer main. His statements were fully corroborated by A. H. Patterson, 1949-51 city commissioner from Ward 1.Commissioner Lloyd Davis made the motion to cancel the account from the city’s books, Mr. Barry seconding.City Attorney J, R. Davis asked the board what it wished concerning the civil suit filed last Saturday which sought to restrain payment of the salary of City Administrator M. K. Fuller.
