Army Band To Feature Vets NightAffair In Park Aug. 27 To Be Benifit Of Service Assoc.A concert by the Army Band from/ Indiantown Gap and addresses by prominent veterans of World Wjar No. I will feature a Veterans Night to be observed in the Springs Park, Sunday, Aug. 27, as a benefit for the Lititz Service Association.Howard Dussinger, commander of the Lititz Springs Post 1463, V. F. W., announced today that the program will be dedicated to the men and women of Lititz who are now serving or have served in the armed forces of the United States.The 332nd Army ASF Band with Lionel J. Kennedy as leader, will give a concert from 8 P. M. to ill P. M. This band made a big hit here as an attraction during the July Fourth celebration.The speaker of the evening will be Nelson McCloskey, Sr. Vice Commander, Department of Pennsylvania, V. F. W,, and Floyd Pike, past department commander of Pennsylvania V. F. W.The public has been invited to attend. A collection will be taken and this will be turned over to the Service Association to help defray the cost of mailing packages to the men and women in the service.At a meeting of the service as-'sociation Monday evening, at 'which 700 boxes were packed, it was decided to ask members of the association to serve as ushers for the concert.It also was announced that there will be several meetings in Sept. to pack Christmas boxes and members and friends are urged to take part.
