Clarissa Wright Wins ‘Miss Georgia’ ContestMiss Clarissa Wright, of Atlanta, Saturday night was awarded the state beauty crown as “Miss Georgia” at the annual beauty contest of the Southeastern Fair Association at Lakewood park.Miss Olive Orr, also of Atlanta, won second place.Miss Wright receives the John Blick trophy and her third trip to the Chi-cago Century of Progress Exposition won in beauty, contests this year. She was selected as “Miss Hotel Greeter and “Miss Log Cabin.” as well as “Miss Atlanta. in recent contests.Miss Orr receives the John Stone trophy. More than 7.000 persons witnessed the contest.Prominent Georgians^ headed by Ed Rivers, speaker of the Georgia house, acted as judges. This committee includes Or. Joseph Kline, noted sculptor; A. L. Chambers, of the Atlantan hotel; R. L. (Shorty) Doyal, Boy’s High coach; Ben Polier, who has judged in Atlantic City. New York and Bermuda contests; Miss Jessie Reese. John Blick, Miss Mary Crowder. “Miss Georgia. 1032.” E. M. Susink Artist; Roy Otwell. Mayor of dimming, Ga., Hon. Howard L. Carmichael. Mayor of East Point; Herman Talmadge, son of the governor; Riley McKoy, of The Constitution, and Walter Candler, Jr.Mike Thomas, radio announcer, acted as master of ceremonies.After the contest they attended a “Miss Georgia” hall.Miss Wright is formerly a Forsyth County girl, her mother will he remembered here as Miss Laura Tatum I vet Kentucky continue to raise and boost its horses Forsyth County will continue to boost of it’s pretty girls.
