BROOKS HOME COMINGUsual Success for Big Event In pur Sister Community.-However, a Postponed Session Went Over Big and Everybody Enjoyed It All.-Again the ©rooks homo coming has registered another bJg succesg. We j know, that is what transpired, and yet we don't know whether we ought Lo say just that or not, tor Ira Dawson ' wasn't there to make a speech this year, and wo hardly see how it could be called a successful meeting with*I out Ira's usual talk. Ira is one ofthe fixtures of the 'Brooks home com-the remaining events were postponed u till I next day.The speaker tor 'Friday afternoon was Bov. C. W, Graham, pastor ot the M'* *E. church 1n C res ton. Mr. Graham la a good talker and hLs address was very much appreciated by all. Th o crowd was a 1 argo one this at ter-noon consisted of a pie eating contest that created considerable merriment.Rev. T. G. 'Kelly, the Brooks min* later, was the efficient platform man* ager. and he waa a good one. The music, recitations and stunts were all enjoyed by the people present. The Brooks band kindly .assisted In entertaining the crowds on each day and added much to the enjoyment of tho occasion.. Brooks people are proud of their band. It is a largo one and the boys are making fine progress.Among the former (Brooks people who returned for the annual festivity we note: Ira P. Dawson, Washington; Rev. S. L. Dezell, Conway; Rev. 13. 31. Jackson, Blanchard; Rev. . B. Guest, Prescott; Rev. Mr. Overholser, Hamburg.Glen Van Alutihe, president, and Johnny Mitchell, secretary and treasurer of the homo coming association, are the gentlemen mo3t responsible for the good time every one present enjoyed.
