Susan Canfora, a senior at Slippery Rock State College, recently completed a news internship at WBZY Radio with a 4.0 grade average. She has accepted a partime postion as a news broadcaster at WBZY. Miss Canfora, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Canfora of 2003 Highland Ave., is presently work ing as an intern at the New Castle News. She plans to graduate in December . Joseph M. Molnar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Molnar Jr. of 227 N. Crawford Ave., par ticipated in the Hopwood summer scholarship program be ing offered by Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va. Taking part in the program were high school students who will be seniors in 1979-80 and who were in the upper 20 percent of their junior classes. Students had many courses to choose from. Instructors for the summer short course program were regular members of the Lynchburg College faculty. Up to 20 percent of the par ticipants will be chosen for Hopwood scholarships by a special committee appointed by Dr. Carey Brewer, president of LC 8L . Randall G. Mannella, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Mannella of New Castle, has been elected president and chairman of the board of directors of Har vard Yearbook Publications, Inc. Mannella will assume the leadership of the Harvard year book in September, and will oversee the publication of 344, the yearbook of the Harvard and Radcliffe classes of 1980, and the Class of 1983 Harvard-Radcliffe freshman register. The Harvard yearbook is an exclusively un dergraduate organization which has received numerous national distinctions and awards for the quality and content of the year books it has published. Mannella, a Lowell House senior and honors student in biology, is a recipent of the John Harvard scholarship for academic excellence. He is a member of the Harvard Lampoon, where he is sanctum; the Harvard Crimson Key Society; the International Relations Council; Hasty Pudding — The Institute of 1770; and the Harvard Council of Elders. In addition, Mannella is a member of the Lowell House Council and plays intramural squash, volleyball, baseball, crew and swimming. Henry A. Bucci, formerly of New Castle, has accepted the position of financial and ac counting analyst with the Dayton Power and Light Co. of Dayton, Ohio. His duties will include the development of property rate schedules and special projects. A graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science in business ad ministration, he is currently enrolled in the graduate program at Wright State University. He and his wife, the former Andrea L. Pecano, have two sons, Roger and Gregory. More than 100 high school juniors and sophomores have been taking a special program at Slippery Rock State College enti tle College courses for high school students. Participating in the program are Rene M. Chiaverini of 2468 Willowhurst Circle and Diane M. Ferrare of 1608 Old Butler Road. The students are both from Shenango High School. Students attending the program rank in the top 25 per cent of their classes and earned up to four academic college credits that are transferable to US. colleges and universities Certificate awarding ceremonies were held recently at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for six recent graduates of the Trum bull Memorial Hospital School of Medical Technology. Terri Repasky of Pulaski, was among the graduates to be honored. The technologist received a BS. degree in medical technology from Slippery Rock State College.
