The annual picnic of the Episcopal Sunday School was held at Vail's Grove, Peach Lake, on Friday, Aug. 9. It was a most beautiful day for the event. Sixty-two were in attendance. A delicious luncheon was served and all spent a very enjoyable afternoon playing games, swimming and boat ig. James Fisher Jr. accompanied by Ralph Hyland motored to Rye Beach on Sunday where they enjoyed part of the day. They then went to Portchester and viewed the otl ship which is docked at that . Harold Milligan, of New York, spent the weekend with his grandmother Mrs. John G. Jansen. Sunday even ing she returned to New York with her grandson, Mr. Leander Clements account by two friends of Croton-on-the-Hud son were Sunday guests of Mrs. Elean or Madden. The Dorcas Society will meet at the home of Miss Mary Rich on Wednes day afternoon Aug. 21. Mr. and Mrs. James Hanford, ac companied by Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Berrus, of South Norwalk, were subp oer guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Hyland on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Emory G. Lobdell and grand-daughters, Emily and Marie Follis, spent a most enjoyable day on Friday at Rye Beach. George I Hoyt motored to the home of his father-in-law Richard Parott at Woodhaven, S. 1, on Friday evening where Mrs.Hoyt and daughter Grate are visiting. Mr Hoyt returned home Monday morning accompanied by Mr. Parrott. Mr. James Christopher is slowly re covering from his recent illness which the community will be pleased to learn. Mrs. Hobbs and daughter Mrs. Dora Brown of Brooklyn, N. Y., are spending this week at Wake Robin Vineyard, as the guests of Mrs. Margaret Lynch j and Miss Dora Gregory. Miss Edna Angleman returned from ‘Fairfield Beach on Saturday after spending the week with her cousins, Mrs. Fred Hall and Mrs. James Scott of Danbury. Mr. and Mrs. James Potter, of York stown, were Sunday evening callers of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Solari Mr. and Mrs. Herbert G. ‘Travis Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Richie at Pawling. The friends and schoolmates of Miss Vera Swenson who is seriously ill at the Danbury hospital will be pleased to learn that she is slowly improving at this writing. Mrs. 8. B. Quick is the guest of Rev. and Mrs. Oakley in their camp at Ball ston Lake, and during the time they have visited Saratoga Springs and other places of interest. _ Mr. and Mrs. John McDowell have returned to Brooklyn, N. Y. after be ing entertained last week by Mr. J. C. Weir and family at Wake Robin Vine yard. _. Mr. and Mrs. Allyn Jewett, of Chat ham, N. Y., visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. man Bruschel on Sunday, Mrs. ‘chel recently fell, injuring a ligament in one of her legs so that she is using crutches. It is hoped that She may soon recover.
