Thirteen Kanah People In Atitomobile AccidentPHA terrible accident occurred here Saturday night, Aug. 10, -when the cars of Kay Wilson and' George Crosby, both of Kanab, crashed into one another about 2 miles south of Kanab on the highway to Fredonia. Kay Wilson was killed find several others in the wreck seriously injured# In the Wilson car which was headed for Fredonia, were: Kay Wilson,Lavar Pratt, Wesley Averett, Lorin Broad bent, Wllbern Young and Gor-don McAllister# In the other car, which was returning to Kanab from the Kalbab mountain were Mr. and Mrs, George Crosby, their three children, a baby, Roland and Norlean; Elmer Judd and Bell Little#No one seems to know exactly'how the accident occurred but from appearances after the wreck it looked as though neither of the cars had turned out until It was too late and then both had turned to the right, striking the right front of both cars.Kay Wilson, who was driving the Wilson car, was thrown through, the windshield, striking the radiator of the Crosby car with such force that Ids head was crushed.When he was discovered by Earl Perstfns and Bee Adams, the first ones to witness the terrible scene, he was hanging from his car with his head on the ground, touching the Crosby car,Mr. and Mrs. Crosby both were also seriously hurt. Mrs. Crosby received a bad gash on the head, running upward from one of her eyes nearly to the top of her head, and both her ankles were badly wrenched, Mr, Crosby had a five-inch cut on his chin and throat, and another terrible wound on his leg.: Lavar Pratt received a bad cut,on Ills chin. Heaton is Accidentally WoundedWhile visiting relatives at Moccasin, last week, Gordon Heaton, eon of Mr, and Mrs. Franklin Heaton of Ka* nab, accidentally1 ehot his cousin, _Grant, son of Chas. Heaton,The little fellows had been in swimming and had taken, the gun with them. -On starting for home Gordon picked up the gun and was carrying it along when it went off and hit his cousin. The bullet went through the arm and lodged in the groin, The little hoy was taken to the hospital at Cedar City for treatment.iMr. and Mrs. Harry McDonald and little sou Dilly, of Los Angeles, who have been visiting in Elsinore, are now in Kanab renewing acquaintance with relatives and old 'friends. Mr, McDonald was formerly a resident of Kanab.Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jackson were in town Aug. 15 to attend the wedding reception of Mrs. Jackson’s sister, Mrs. LaBarth Feljstead,, who was married recently.Forest Ranger Parks and family spent August 13 and 14 in Kanab.
