Sentence was passed at 1:30 yesterday afternoon by Judge Webster Holmes. Attorney Walter Tooze, Jr., counsel for defense asked for 30 days in which to file application fur a new trial, and the request was granted. Davis in company with Sheriff Grant left for Salem today.In asking for a |Kjriod of 30 day* in which to prepare his motion Attorney TooXC stated that owing to (In* fact that the court stenographer was busy it would take some time before he could secure a transcript Of the testimony. Asked if the defendant hid mean- with which to pay for the transcript.
