and Lake McDermott regions.Montana Marshal 8lain.Columbus. — An inquest over the body of Charles Davison, town marshal, who was shot by Homer Porter bus been held by Judge Mann of Billings, acting coroner. Porter had crated a disturbance at a disorderly house, after which he went to his home and procured a revolver. He exhibited the weapon in one or two saloons and, it is stated, made open threats. Stepping in front of a livery stable he fired a shot or two in the air. The marshal was attracted by the shot and when he attempted to place Porter under arreat the shooting began. Both men fired simultane* □usly.
