POINT PLEASANT. WEST VAAUGUST 15, 1894.Sad Accident.—A Jaial runaway occurred lost Thursday evening near Frazier's Bottom, on the Kanawha. Mr. C C. Martin, who lived at Evergreen and his married daughter, from Raymond City, Mrs. Myrtle Melton, with two of the Int-ter's children, aged respectively two and a half and one years, were driving in a spriog wagon from Evergreen to Frazier's Bottom, when the horse suddenly shied and became unmanageable, throwing all four oat of the vehiclo. Dashing on some distance, it was stopped by a passer by. Thomas Morrow, who was coming along behind, came to the spot, and found Mr. Marlin lying In the road with bis head crushed, and dead. Nearby was Mr3. Melton, unconscious. Her head was also crashed in, and she died at one o’clock, Friday morning. The children were unhurt. Mr. Morrow picked the little ones up and sat them down on the edge of the road, while ho ran off lo summon help. This he quickly found, and return-ing, found the baby on the mother’s breast, and the little girl trying to brush the blood from the forehead of her grandfather. Tho sad accident has cast a gloom over tho entire neighborhood.
