August is considered by many to be the best month in the summer to take a vacation or an outing and the crowds seen at Kennywood these hot days seem to bear out this opinion. As a Picnic re sort it has a wide appeal and as the summer advances it appears to grow in popularity. Family parties are particularly in evi dence just now as many come out to spend a day in the woods. The groves have every facility tending to the com fort and pleasure of the visitors. There are free dining rooms and kitchens and shelter houses are Provided to protect Picnickers in case of rain. There is a spacious playground for children in the park and many little folks come ex pressly to the park to enjoy its amuse ments. The ride to Kennywood is a pleasant one, the routes of the car lines leading to the Park passing through picturesque sections of the country. The residential neighborhood of Squirrel Hill is well worth seeing and the cars from the city run through the prettiest part of it.
