He jump- » ed into a rowboat and bR8teoed 10 the bridge- He saw tbe child rise to thesurface and go down agate, but by the time he had reached tbe spot she J eame up again. He caught the child s J dress and lifted her Into the boat and made for shore. Dr. Evaus was called but tbe iiltle girl was dead, assistance j had reached her too late, ITbe mother was on the scene when the child’s body was recovered and she j was frantic with grief. She said it j wa$ the first time her children had ever been on the bridge. Tbe body was j removed to the home on Rogers street. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Ref. G.
