■ Landske appointed State Sen.Dorothy Sue Landske, R-Cedar Lake, has been appointed to five statutory committees and commissions by Senate President Pro Tern Robert D Garton, R-Colombus The committees are: Census Data Advisory Committee; Probate Code Study Commission; Code Revision Commission, Steel Industry Advisory Committee; and the Northwest Indiana Commuter Rail and Transportation Study Commission Landske will chair the Census Advisory committee and the Probate Code Study Commission The panels are meeting this summer in preparation tor the 1998 session of the General Assembly. Wheeler Elected Center Township Assessor Martha Wheeler was elected president of theIndiana Assessors' Association on July 13 during the group’s summer confer-vence The group meets annually to offer educational courses to township assessors, trustee assessors and county assessors and their staffs
