KFXD HaltsTelecastsIdaho’s first television station, KFXD-TV, has suspended itstelecasts.Manager Ed Hurt said the suspension will probably be permanent. Transmitter equipmentset up on Deer Point in Boise National Forest will be dismantled.Hurt declined to discuss reasons for the suspension. He indicated several factors were involved.The Nampa station became the fire* it^ouiiet In Idaho when itbegan telecasting June 18. Itwas followed by KIDO-TV in Boise. The Nampa station’s suspension leaves KIDO-TV the only one in Idaho.Hurt said he has notified the Federal Communications Commission of the suspension, but has not yet given up the temporary permit on which KFXD-TV was operating.Possibility telecasts will be resumed is “fairly remote,” Hurtsaid. If KFXD-TV goes back onthe air, he added, “it will take several months, at least.
