New York, Aug. 12.—Memphis spe ciala say fully One hundred persons at tended the funeral services of TL Rid ley, colored clergyman. The outlook does not present a hopeful appearance. The fever is spreading in every direc tion. Several hundred idle negroes congregate daily waiting to be detailed as nurses. There appears to be no thought now of stamping out the fever, and the only alternative is to await the coming of frost. Fully 30,000 per sons have left the city. Memruis, Aug. 12.—Eight cases are reported this morning, five whites and three colored. Four deaths from yel low fever have occurred within the city limits since last night. Two ad ditional deaths are reported beyond the corporation line. One case of fever has developed at White Haven, eight miles south of the city. Twenty-two cases in all reported to the Board of Health today, ten col ored. Two additional deaths occurred. New ORLEANS, Aug. 12—The city council adopted resolutions declaring no case of yellow fever in the city, and protesting against the unjust quaran tine established by southern cities.
