Copperas Cove VFW PostHolds MeetingCopperas Cove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8577 held its general membership meeting the second of August, 1971.District Fourteens Commander Mr. Aubrey Childs fromFairfield was a guest of the Post for the meeting. Mr. Childs spoke of the up-comingmembership drive.Mr. Thurmond Hummer, thePost Quartermaster, won themembership drawing prize. Mr. Hummer donated the prize tothe Post.Mr. Kufus (Ace) Morris speaking in behalf of the Sons of the VFW donated to the Post a check from the Sons for use of the Post truck. The Sons of the VFW in order to raise funds use the Post truck to Police trash on FM116 to Gates-ville and FM 1113 to Topsey as far as the city limits.
