Holds MeetingCopperas Cove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8577 held its general membership meeting the second of August, 1971.District Fourteens Commander Mr. Aubrey Childs from Fairfield was a guest of the Post for the meeting. Mr. Childs spoke of the up-coming membership drive.Mr. Thurmond Hummer, the Post Quartermaster, won the membership drawing prize. Mr. Hummer donated the prize to the Post.Mr. Hufus (Ace) Morris speaking in behalf of the Sons of the VFW donated to the Post a check from the Sons for use of the Post truck. The Sons of the VFW in order to raise funds use the Post truck t( Police trash on FM116 to Gates-ville and FM 1113 to Topse; as far as the city limits. Thlt; Sons of the VFW also had t fund raising campaign sellin: light bulbs. Paul Sharp wo the honors for selling the mos bulbs.
