Jens Petersen, aged 77 years a farmer for a half century, but who retired 13 years ago, died Saturday afternoon at his home in this city The funeral services were conduct ed at three o’clock Monday afternoon at his home by the Rev D A Gimbel of the Grant Park Lutheran church His sons acted as pall bearers He is survived by the widow, the former Andrea Hansen, whom he married in Denmark 52 years ago; children Mrs Agnes Christensen, Mrs Olga Poppe; Lemuel; Mollar; Harry and Theodore Petersen of Momence Mrs Lucille Hatherley and Mrs Doro thy Cantway and Axel of Chicago; Mrs Catherine French of Woodstock; Myrtle of Beloit, Wisconsin; Branch of Peoria; Fred of Davis, South Da kota; 16 grandchildren; a __ sister Mrs Lena Sorenson of Momence and other relatives in Denmark His death, with the exception of an infant son, is the first in the fam ily. Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr and Mrs Mike Christensen, Mrs. Johnson of Kanka kee; Mr and Mrs Fred Peterson of Davis, South Dakota; Mr and Mrs Wilford Hatherley, Mr and Mrs E Cantway; Mr and Mrs Axel Peter son of Chicago; Mr and Mrs French of Woodstock; Miss Myrtle of Beloit, Wisconsin; Miss Blanch, George Hos her and Vaughn Poppe of Peoria
