SAWKA — YVON A lovely wedding was solem nized in the Roman Catholic church at Woodridge, Man. on Saturday, July 30, 1966. Barbara Marie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Yvon, was united in marriage to Earl Eugene, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Sawka, of Piney, Manitoba. Given in marriage by her father the bride looked radiant in a floor length gown of peau de soie, fea turing a long train edged with lace. The rounded neckline was trimmed with pearls and her sleeves were lily point. Her veil was held in place by a crown of pearls and diamonds set in a flower design. She wore a string of cultured pearls, a gift from the groom, and carried a bouquet of red roses. Attending the bride was Pat ricia Stefura, matron of honor, and Yvonne Huppe, Denise Quer el, Shirley Werbennik and Karen Sawka, as bridesmaids, Maureen Horn and Janet Yvon, sister of the bride, were junior brides maids while Brenda Stefara was the flower girl. They all wore identical floor length gowns of yellow lace. Their short veils were held by a pill-box head piece. They carried bouquets of white daisies with yellow cen tres. The flower girl carried a basket of flowers. The groom was attended by Bill Stefura, best man and Willie Sawka, Gordon Yvon, Brian Nault, and Gordon Sawka as ushers. Dean Werbennik was ringbear er. The groom wore a black suit. The best man and ushers wore white dinner jackets with black trousers, burgundy ties and cum merbunds completed the outfits. A reception was held at the Ukrainian National Home in Sun down, Man. The couple left for a honeymoon to the United Sta tes. The bride chose a pale blue suit and Navy blue accessories as her going away outfit.
