Buster Melancon Will Not Be Re quired to Serve Thirty Days . But Must Pay $50 Fine. Buster Melancon of Pass Christian, who:@@fered a plea of guilty to a rerge of assault and battery on the Opening-day of the August term of county court and was given a jail ‘sentence of 60 days by Judge Murphy succeeded in having this sentence va cated, set aside and held for naught after a hearing yesterday and was given a fine of $50 and 30 days. The jail sentence was suspended by the judge during a term of good behavior. The above was the only criminal case coming before the county court of yesterday’s session, but the court was kept busy during the entire day in the hearing of civil suits and in the granting of default judgments in cases where no defense was made by those who were made defendants. Among the case disposed of yester day were the following : Peter A. Fabacher versus Mrs. Katherine Fabacher, equity decree approving report of sale of certain beach property in Biloxi by special commissioner and deed to same or dered executed, Ed Gray versus R. McConnell and J. WS. Atkinson, a eee oper ating as Bean and McConnell Motor Company, judgment for defendants and plaintiff taxed with costs in the case. W.F. Glass versus R. L. Aubert, judgment of $25 for plaintff. Among the cases disposed of at Tuesday’s session and not heretofore published were the following: Polk Motor Company versus R. T. McConnell. Dismissed at plaintiff's cost for want of prosecution. C T. Patterson Co. versus R. BR. Moore, trading as R. E. Moore Weld ing.Co. Judgment by default. $60.18. L. V. Pringle versus C. N. Wil hocte and Grover H. Jackson, defend ants, and First National Bank of Bi loxi and F.. M. Shute, garnishees, dis missed by agreement at cost of plain tiff, . L. P. Larson, Jr., Co. versus W. D.
