Mays returned to Lubbock this week, after several months absence, and made the Avalanche n pleasant call Thursday morning.While away Mr. Mays had the misfortune of losing his aged parents, who died at their home in Dallas. The mother was preparingto go to Sunday school on Srnulay mcruing, July took ill. and within thirty minutes passed away. She was seventy-six years of age, and was active up to the last hour of her life. The remains were ship-Sed to the old home of the couple atipley, Tennessee.After fifty years of companion-ship with the beloved wife, Mr. Mays was unable to walk through life alone, and on August I, passed away. He_ was seventy-eight years of age. His remains were also shipped to Ripley, Tennesses.The aged couple had many friends in Lubbock, having visited their sonhero, and the rows of their death will occasion much regret with their friends.They leave three sons, F.
