County Convention.i' |Pursuant to public notice the Whigg of Dane County pflnvened at the Capitol in * Madison, on Friday, August 7, 1940, for 1 the purpose of appointing Delegates to the , District Convention to be held at the above { place on Monday'the 10th inst, and . for placing in nomination Suita bio persona to 1 fill the several county offices; whereTtpon i Geo. H. Slaughter was called to iho j chair, and R. Buck appointed Secrotnry, , The object of the meeting being briefly stated by the chair, the convention proceeded to business. On motion of I. W. Bud a committee of five was appointed by . the chair to apportion tho Ifi delegates for . the county of Dane, I. VV. Bird, Geo, ftlcFadden, Michael McCord, Tunis Slin-gerland and Geo. P. Thompson were appointed said committe'c, who reported the following: Tho prccincl of Madison 8 delegates/ Sun Prairie, 2; Albion, 2; Rutland, 1 ; Rome, 1 ; Dunkirk 1. On motion of Mr Blanchard, tho report was accepted nnd tho committee -discharged. The following named persons were duly appointed by the convention from the respective precincts:Madison—Geo. P, Thompson, Tames Morrison, B, Shackleford, C. D. Finch, Wellington Wdliby, Wm. Pyncheon, Dean, Goo. B. Slaughter.1 Sun Prairie—N. L Tompkins, Tunis Slingorland.Albion—Solomon Head, W.p II. Andrews,Pull and—David West.Rome—Joseph Webster, jDunkirk—Mr- Barlow.1 On motion of I. W.
