Dillard University, New Orleans Miss Catlett's thesis at the University of Iowa, from which she received the M. I-A. degree in June, was thestone sculpture, “Motherand Child, pictured at the left. It was the most popu* lar work of art in the Commencement Exhibition at Iowa and is regarded as one of the most outstanding pieces of work ever to be dene at the university.
