Raleigh—(AP) Constructu of the first “cotton road” in Nat Carolina was scheduled to st. in Orange county Friday. L. W. Payne, acting chief hi way engineer, said culton fal will be used in daying a bituminimous surface on saw sections of Route 54 between ¢ pel Hill and the Alamance car line with a three-mile cap mental stretch being opened traffic this week. With Federal aid, the Star plans to experiment with ab- 100 miles of highway reinfer with cotton fabric.
