The weekly Tuesday night con cert given on, Jarvis Plaza by the Fourth U.S. Field Artillery Band, and the weekly Thursday night concert given on San Agustin Plaza by the San Agustin Tuvenilo Band attract comparatively small but appreciative audiences. CGlled music is furnished at these con certs and larger crowds should turn out to them. Steve Simon, well known agri culturist of the North Laredo com munity, says there will be no heavy rainfall hereabouts until after the “‘canicula (equinox) on August 25. The cement castings that will constitute the flooring of the 12- story Hamilton Hotel building are now being set on the first floor by Contractor Charles Schoenfeld and As assistants. The castings are hollow and provide for both ven tilation and for various pipings that will go under the flooring of each story of Laredo’s sky scraper hostelry. Architect M.S. Ryan announces that the First Ward School, on which construction work is now under way following the comple tion of the reinforced concrete foundation, will be ready for oc cupancy soon after the school term begins. In the meanwhile the old building oan the site has been moved back and wil be used until the new building is completed. County Judge A.
