Sin* was horn in (jMeConnels Cove, Bedford county, c Ha., March 12th 1 s2h and died aftera -ix week’s illne— of cancer of the stomach at her home near Dallas Center Iowa, August 0, J8(d2. aged ; tfW years, I month- and 21 days.She was married to John Howland April 8th 1817, with whomshe shared the joys and sorrows of life for h”) years. One month .afterwtheir marriage they started to Carroll county. 111., where they arrived aft**r nearly five weeks weary•» Vtravel. Here they lived until the fall of 1SS3 wfien thev moved to their pleasant home near Dallas Centre, Iowa.To them were horn three sons and one daughter, George, Colli?), and John who still live in Illinois, and Mary who married to K. F. McCune living in Dallas county.Iowa. She unit'd with the churchof her choice, Brethren or Dun-kard, upward of 40 years ago and remained a consistent member of the same to the (dose of her life. The prosperity of Zion was ever near to her heart. Her goodly life was so enstamped on her children, two of tlmin are following her example (one a minister ) t he other two we trust realize hers hasbeen a wise choice. The churchand community has lost a mother in Israel. Having known her for near 11 years, I feel safe in saying her friends are all who knew her. and her enemies are none.Funeral services were conducted by M. Sisler in the beautiful yard (adjoining her home) of her son-in-law, H. F.
