L. Gilbert was struck and set on fire, and his carriage was spoiled; fire in the building was put out else serious results might havd occurred. The building of Geo. Fowler was struck, going the whole length of the gable and cutting its way to the cellar where it escaped in the ground. The barn of Solomon Corey was struck, and shattered the corner post and roof some. The house of Mr. Woodard, on the Wayland road, was also struck. Fortunately no lives were last, although it was a close call for some of them.
