On Wednesday evening the Odd Fellows.of this village received from Corporal Drown of Co. G, 4th Regt. C. V. as a trophy from the Seat of War, a beautiful Satin Banker belonging to the first Odd Fellows Lodge in Virginia. It seems that when the Rebels occupied Harper’s Ferry the Lodge Room of Virginia Lodge No. I was sacked, and the Regalia Banner* c., was found by'our troops scattered about the towri:Corporal Drown being a P. G. of the order rescued this Banner from the hands of a person who probably could not appreciate its -value, and sent it to Middlesex Lodge, for safe keeping. We believe it is the intention of Middlesex Lodge to keep it till the close of the war, and then return it to its original owners, or to the Grand Lodge of Virginia. It has a rich painting of the Coat of Arms of Virginia, Liberty Crushing Tyrfimy under her foot, with the motto above Sic itur ad astra, and beneith the letters O.1. 0. F. On its opposite side is the name and number of the Lodge enclosed in a chaplet of olive leaves.
