Mamie Bergling Laid to RestFuneral services were held Monday afternoon, Aug. 6, 1973, at 1:30 p.m., in the Evangelical Free Church in Marathon for a long-time resident, Miss Mamie Bergling, age 83, who died Saturday in the Boone County Hospital in Boone. Rev. Howard Constable, pastor of the church, officiated.David Challstrom was organist, with special music by the soloist, Mrs. Keith Sundblad. Mrs. Ray Haman and Mrs. Howard Bentley were in charge of the floral arrangements.Bearers were Romaine Kischer, Everett Challstrom, Lloyd Nelson, Wallace Hansen, Gunnard Anderson and Russell Stevens. Interment was in the Marathon Cemetery with the Nelson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.Relatives and friends from a distance attending the services were from Chicago, Des Moines and Hector, Minn., as well as many surrounding towns in the area.
