They said (he $60,000 donation pumped new impetus into the project and greatly enhanced chances of complete success.Atehley said the campaign will continue through August. Afterwards, the congressman will be honored with a reception in the shelter house at the park.The National Guard unit, which trains at OIncy and Jacksboro armories when not on active duty, was given an official welcome when it arrived in Jacksboro Tuesday. The men’s formal dismissal from active duty, however, will take place during the program in Olney tonight.The main body of the battery left Fort Polk at 6:30 a. m. Monday and traveled via Shreveport and Marshall. The group spent the night at Greenville and arrived at the Jacksboro armory at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday.Olney’s Main Street is dressed in festive attire for the Guardsmen’s return. United States flags are flying in front of most all Main Street business houses, and a big overhead sign across Main Street says Welcome Home, 49th”.Tickets for the barbecue are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce office, Western Auto Store, Richmond Jewelry, Ho-rany’s and First National Bank.
