Boy Scout Camp(Continued from page 1)improving the camp site, namely by developing a beach, service roads, dining hall and kitchen and adequate water sup-piy-The camp program includes many activities such as a camp demonstration area .where Scouts learn not only the various types of tents but also how to put them up; .a rope yard where Scouts learn how to use the knots they tie; archery; marksmanship and various aquatic activities are al-day.The Scouts were also given a sailboat this year to ' add^Jo their waterfront equipment. This gift was made 'by lt;?. M. Bedford. Also, a large rubber raft was donated by D. M. Silk-worth of Ypsilanti.Another accomplishment in which most of the Scouts are trying to achieve is the right to carry a Totin’ Chip membership card. The Scouts may earn the card by learning the woodsman’s code and -knowing^ the proper use of the knife and'axe..11th. Any additional Scouts who are not registered for camf desiring to participate this yeai should register through theii •Scoutmaster at Scout headquarters immedately.The camping committee headed by Charles Barclay and the Scout Executive, Joe A. ‘Juncker* wish to thank the many Scoutmasters, Scouters and friends of Scouting, including the Community Chest and the Parks Division of the Department of Conservation for helping make this 1951 season of summer camping the happiest an dthe most successful camping experience for approxmately 500 Scouts who will have participated this summer.• The following is the “‘Woodsman’s Code”, observed by all considerate Scouts.Woodsman’s Code I will use my sheath knife and axe as tools—not playthings. 1 will keep them clean and sharp.I will practice so that I may j become skillfull.I will rest when tired and remember that “Easy does it”, I will respect all safety rules to protect those about me.I will respect the property of others and will not harm living trees needlessly.I will help others live up to the Woodsman’s Code.so major activities which the Scouts may participate in eachThere are only two more one week periods of camping remaining after this week in that camp closes Saturday, August
