Boy Scout Camp Now In SessionThe biggest and best camping season of the Portage Trails f Council, serving 22 towns in Washtenaw and Livingston counties, is now in session. The fifth period started July 22nd with 70 boys in camp representing 12 different troops.The Council Camping Committee is quite pleased with the number of boys in camp as well as the fine program that is being offered to the Scouts who are participating.The camp staff and their responsibilities are as follows:!] Wade A. Shook, camp director; ( Paul A. Yambert, assistant' camp director, program; William Walton/- assistant eam£ director, Scout-craft; Herman Kranzer, aquatics ; Robert Hel-mer, provisional Scoutmaster; and Albert Rojnik, provisional Scoutmaster. - The provisional Scoutmaster takes over those Scouts who come to camp without their own troop leader. Approximately 50 percent of the troops in camp this season “have been in camp with their own leaders. . Bernard Ungrodt is the assistant waterfront direcr tor; Jerry Keene, handiman; David Rorabaeher and Fred Walker, dishwashers; Walter Squire, dining hall steward; Floyd Anckney, eartaker; and Mrs. Ozella Bolden and Mrs. A. Baxter, cooks.The Boy Scouts are using the Bruin Lake Group Camp in the Pinckney area for their summer encampment.
