Credentials of Emmett Graduates Will Be Accepted by Any N.W. College To correct a report that the creden tials of graduates from the Emmett High school would not be accepted by the state university and other universities and colleges in the Northwest. Superintendent W. H. De Bolt has issued the following state ment: “To the Graduates and Patrons of the Emmett High School, sing the accreditment of the Emmett High school, I wish to make the following announcement and ex planation. “Sometime in March, 1917, a circu lar went out from the office of the commissioner of education, listing the accredited schools of the state in their proper rating, according to the in spection of the previous year. In this circular Emmett, with some other high schools of A class, was marked with a star and an explanatory note at the bottom of the sheet, indicating, 1, deficiency in some particular. How ever, this did not effect the accredit ment, but was simply meant as a warning. ‘ “T took the matter up with the reg ister of the university and submitted our curriculum, schedule of classes and other data hearing mnsccredit ment, which they promptly approved,. We requested an inspection of the commissioner of education and Prof. Bronson, of the Technical Institute at Pucatelle, inspected our Hiwi school and exude system in April, but, online to a change in the commissioner's office, the results of his Inspection], were not acted upon officially until 1 + very recently, when I received the following letter: “‘Supt. W. H. DeBolt, Dear Sir—|| We have rated the Emmett High] school as fully standard. ‘This in| bused on the report of Professors Brandon’s racent visit to your schoala.| . Accepe my congratulations upon this¢ attainment. : “E. A. BEVAN, Commissioner of Education” ‘This will answer the many inquir ies that have come to me regarding|! entrance to Idaho State university and other schools and assure the Emmett]! graduates that they will be admitted to our State university or any of the other schools in the Northwest that they may wish to attend, ene amination, tes simply on werty’ their credentials from, Wind Does Damage. The only damage reported in town was the uprooting of a poplar tree in Frank Chapin’s yard.
