She married inolder people, and says that her Washington internship helped her in addressing the needs 1949 and has five daughters, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.of senior citizensOrtega was chairperson of the El Paso County Welfare Advisory Board and has been co-Ortega spent one all-expenses-paid week in Washington from April 22 through April 29. chairperson of Community Agencies Working Together, which facilitated the process forDeclare Your Independencelocal community groups to work together cooperatively. She received a bachelor’s degreefrom the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 1981. Her degree in distributivestudies included work in communications, philosophy and Spanish.
