Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Strick land and daughter, Irene, Mrs. Wil liam Evans, and Miss _ Beverly Haliberg, spent the weekend with Mrs. Sandy Paraiso in New York City. The Ladies Aid Society of the Second Congregational Church held its annual supper and sale last week Wednesday. Proceeds of the supper were $93, and $25 was cleared from the sale of fancy ar ticles. Sally Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy R. Smith, had her tonsils removed in Middlesex Hos pital Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hallberg and son, Milton, are spending a vaca tion in Maine this week. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Evans of Ashland, Mass., who have been spending a week with their daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McConnell of Shipyard Road, have returned home. Miss Marjorie McConnell returned with them for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Schlag and children, Penelope and Hay den, and Miss Barbara McConnell, are spending a week on Cape Cod, Mass. Mrs. Ralph Stevens and sons, Keith and Allen, of Towanda, Penn., are visiting her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mil ton Hale of Keighley Pond Road. The Rev. Marcus Simpson will be in charge of morning prayer and sermon at Christ Episcopal Church Sunday at 11 am. Mrs. Clarence Woodruff will direct the choir, and Mrs. Russel Dart will play the organ. At the Well Child Conference Friday in the Community House, 14 youngsters were examined by Dr. Louis Soreff, assisted by Miss Virginia Rittman, R. N., public health nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Hurlburt have returned home after visiting Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Alexander of Rockingham, Vermont, former res idents here, for a week. Members of Mattabessett Grange, Middletown, enjoyed an outing at Hurd Park on July 26. Hemlock Grange members of Portland enjoyed an outing at Hurd Park last Thursday evening.
