MRS. KING WAS ONE OF EARLY SETTLERS IN BOONE COUNTY. DIED AT HER HOME HERE RECENTLY. Mrs. King is Survived by a Number of Children and Other Relatives and Friends in Various Parts of the County. After a long illness of neuritis and gallstones which caused intense suf fering, Mrs. Elizabeth King, wife of John S. King, deceased, died at her home in Boone, Iowa, at No. 927 Mon ona street, on July 22, 1922, at 10:45 o’clock a. m., at the age of 87 years and 19 days. Her passing came with much sad ness to the entire community. For some time it had been known that it was but a question of time that Mrs. Kink would have to give up the un equal struggle but her rugged constitu tion and splendid vitality sustained her when her weakened condition seemed more then she could stand at her advanced age. She bore her suf fering patiently and with true love and faith in Jesus, the Author and Finish er of her faith. She leaves to mourn her loss one son and five daughters, viz. Mrs. Elizabeth Enfield of Hardy, Ia.; Mrs. Lucy Thomas, Council Bluffs; Wil liam C. King, Woodward, Ia.; Mrs. Mary C. Weyer, Hardy, Ia.; Mrs. Alice Bartlow, Boone, Mrs. Esther Cheeke, of Woodward, Ia. All were present at her bedside when the end came but two daughters, Mrs. Enfield and Mrs. Weyer of Hardy, Ia. Funeral Services. The funeral services were conduct ed by the Rev. Charles Mitchel of George, Ia., a true servant of Jesus. He spoke brief and consoling words to those who mourned, giving a clear vision of Christ’s Resurrec tion for the dead—1 Corinthians 15th chapter from 14th to 21st verses. Born In Indiana, Mrs. Elizabeth Burril King was born in Crawfordville, Ind., July 3, 1835, making her home with her grandmoth er, her mother dying when she was 4 years of age. She resided with her grandmother until she was united in marriage to John S. King on April 11, 1855. Six children preceded her in death.
