MUSTERED OUT.Sunday evening another veteran of ] the civil war, John W. Case, late of' Company 0, Gth Iowa Voluntary Infan-try, passed away. He was horn in Boone county, Kentucky. June 13, 1S25. He enlisted in July, 1SM1, and veteranized January 1, 18154, and remained in the service until July 21. IStio. The Sixth was one of the best regiments in the service, participating in the battles of Shiloh, Mission Ridge, Kenesaw Mountain and others, also in Sherman’s “March to the Sea.” This regiment was distinguish'd for the fine appearance of the rank and hie, and among these Sergeant Case stood first for his soldierly bearing. He was at times as the guard at Gen. Sherman’s headquarters and through his subsequent life never let slip an opportunity of sounding the praise of that great commander. Upon his discharge from the army he returned to Eldora.He was twice married and is the father of three ehildreji, one daughter living in Oregon.The funeral services were held in the Congregational church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. W. E. Stanley, chaplain of E. C, Buckner Post, of Hein ting in the absence of Rev. C. C. Warner.I Interment in the Eldora cemetery.
