Who Murdered Hannah Robinson ? The police are apparently as profoundly in the dark as ever in regard to the murder of Hannah Robinson, ness the neighboring vil lage of Glendale. The identification of the victim has not been followed by arrest of the assassin. One young man, suspected of the crime, was locked up on no other visible provocation than that he had been acquainted with the girl and formerly contemplated marrying her. Nothing to his discredit was re vealed and he has been released. Meanwhile, the impression grows that the coroner has douse his work clumsily, that the police exhibit little energy or ingenuity and that the killing will be added to the list of unsolved myste ries which have conferred unenviable noto riety on Long Island. Had the responsible officials performed with intelligence and celerity their search for the murderer he would by this time be in custody. Their failure supplies another strong argument for improvement of the police system in the sub urbs. When the work of preserving the peace, protecting life and defending property is intrusted to the larger cities, or to the state, to work will be more motively done. ,Pend-
