JUNE R. JONES FROSTBURG — June R. Jones, 87, of Frostburg, died on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at the WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center. Born June 6, 1926, in Det mold, she was the daughter of the late James Ritchey and Mary (Thompson) Ritchey. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jones; a nephew, Roger Ritchey; two sisters and three brothers. She was the last sur viving member of her family. She was a member of the Frostburg Assembly of God Church and she had worked at the Celanese Corp. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Jones Miller and husband John, of Frost burg; granddaughter Stefanie Hay and husband Jeff and great-grandson Josiah, of Frostburg. Also surviving are special nephews and niece she helped raise, Woody, Denny, Mark and Robyn. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be con ducted on Thursday in the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Midlothian at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nephews will serve as pall bearers. Condolences may be sent to www.sowersfuneralhome.com. MARY L. FRADISKA FREDERICK — Mary L. Fradiska (Maryetta), 71, of Frederick, died on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013. Born on March 8, 1942, in Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Anasta sia Youngblood. She was a graduate of Valley High School. Mrs. Fradiska is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, John. She is also survived by her four daughters, Amanda Bowman and husband Wayne, of Walkersville, Patricia Yea ger and husband Paul, of Mid dletown, Lori Kennedy and husband Steve, of Thurmont and Amy Fradiska and Josef White, of Frederick and seven grandchildren, Emily Bow man, Brooke Kennedy, Daniel Bowman, Christopher Yeager, Samantha Yeager, Stephanie Kennedy and Jessica Yeager. Mrs. Kiprsi was also one of twelve children. Surviving are six brothers and five sisters, James Youngblood, Paul Youngblood, Carletta Vaider, Dennis Youngblood, Elizabeth Llewellyn, Harry Youngblood, Joyce Raynor, Peggy Reed, Kevin Youngblood, Stacie Bosley and Patrick Young blood. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, George Fradiska and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fradiska was a loving wife, mother and grandmoth She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Walkersville. She was a won derful cook. Born Nov. 11, 1950, in Old town, she was the daughter of the late John F Kerns and Helen Kerns DeVault. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Lawrence; a brother, Richard Kerns and her husband, Kenny Matthews. Judy never met a stranger and was a wonderful friend to all. She loved her garden and was known as a “miracle worker” with plants and flow ers. Judy also enjoyed her crafts, Judy is survived by her fiance, Butch McKenzie; her daughter, Hazel Matthews; six grandchildren, Misti, Heidi, Shannon, Austin, Dalton and Hope; two great-grandchil dren, Bee and Cole; a brother, Gary Kerns and two sisters, Dottie Clingerman and Heidi Bridges. Jeanne Hook Boor, 85, of Lov ingston, Va., and formerly of Romney, W.Va., passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, in Martha Jefferson Hos pital. Born June 28, 1928, in Cum berland, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Earl Hook and Mamie Rose Martin Hook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Andrew Boor in 1997; two sisters, Betty H. McCoy and Patricia H. Dick; a brother, Robert E. Hook and a son-in-law, Timo thy Smith. Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening, canning, taking care of others and writ ing letters. Born May 26, 1929, in Mount Storm, WVa., she was the daughter of the late Dewey R. and Nellie M. (Cosner) Hawk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wade Edwin Janoske; one daughter, Julia A. Janoske; an infant daughter, Arnella Hawk; one brother, Harold “Gene” Hawk and one half sister, Dorothy (Cosner) Hoeck. Ruth was a homemaker and owner of the Rt. 50 Quilt Shop for many years. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and listening to country music. Ruth was a member of St. John’s Luther an Church, Red House. She is survived by her son, William E. CENDO CUMBERLAND — Robert Damean Cendo, 59, of Cumber land, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at his home. Born April 19, 1954, in Ljublid na, Slovenia, he was the son of the late John and Dr. Margaret (Zupancic) Cendo. Bob and his family moved to the United States when he was seven years old. He was a grad uate of Lakeridge Academy in Ohio and Case Western Reserve University. He gradu ated from medical school in Mexico and continued his edu cation at the Medical School of Toledo. Bob did his residency at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Cleve land and a hand fellowship in Louisville, Ky. He was an avid downhill snow skier, photogra pher and enjoyed motor sports. Bob was an orthopedic sur geon, a partner at the Surgeon’s Surgical Center and a partner in the ownership of Seton Apartments. He is survived by three sons, Demetri Z. Cendo, Sergei P Cendo and Cosimos S. Cendo. He is also survived by Kim (Rowan) Cendo, her daughter Marissa and her husband William and a brother, Richard Cendo and Gary Hamner, of Boulder, Colo. Born July 9, 1931, in Grantsville, she was the daugh ter of the late Olen H. and Pauline Jeffreys Yoder. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Rivenbark. Jackie was a registered nurse for 28 years at the Nation al Navy Medical Center, then working for Dr. Walter Nau mann, Accident, and as a nurse for Hospice of Garrett County. She graduated from Frostburg Community Hospital Nursing School and was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Oakland. She is survived by two sons, Douglas Hoover and wife Diane, of Silver Spring and Michael Nealis, of Oakland; one granddaughter, Miranda and one niece, Teresa Weeks and Ms. Mark, of a their family. Stahlman, 89, of Hyndman, went to be with the Lord Tues day, Aug. 6, 2013, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 16, 1923, in State Line, Pa., he was a son of the late Banks and Bessie (Davis) Stahlman. He was also preced ed in death by sisters, Margaret Robinson and Geraldine Kelly and brothers, Audrey “Jake” and James Stahlman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosalee (Campbell) Stahlman, whom he married Nov. 30, 1962; children, Shaffer and husband Ron, Frank H. “Huck” Stahlman Jr. and wife Lisa, Lettie Sue Clues and husband Robert, Shelly Stouffer and husband Scott and Jodi Emerick and husband Jody, all of Hyndman; a brother, Curtis Stahlman, of Everett; sis ters, Ann Horner and Donna Shaffer, both of Hyndman; 12 grandchildren; nine _ great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Stahlman served in the US Army during World War II. He owned and operated Stahiman Service Center where he did auto repair and sold John Deere Equipment. In 1984, his family opened Hobo’s Restaurant. Frank was a member of the Hyndman VFW Oscar Jordon Post 7375 and the Hyndman Masonic Lodge 589 AFAM. He attended Gravel Pit United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be con ducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Nagy officiating.
