Women’s ActivitiesWant to be a Nurse ?IN THE heart of the mountains of Kentucky—in the shadow of the Cumberlands and Blue Ridge—is the largest county of the State. In spite of the fact that the largest town has less than 4,000 inhabitants, it is near the head of the list in population, having, according to the recent census, over 62,000 human beings who must gain their sustenance largely from the hillside farms and from the many coal mines, and whose i physical wants must be attended to, no mat- lt;ter how neglected their souls may be. lt;Contributing to the welfare of this mass of people, as well as to a large constituency :from adjoining counties, is the Methodist lt;Hospital of Kentucky, located on one of the !beautiful hilltops at Pikeville. In adminis- itering to these people, the hospital is also lt;serving by training a select group of fine iChristian young women in the Nurses’ Train- 1ing School.
