There are now twenty-six inmates at our county poor asylum, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nichols visited relatives near Kilisdale last week. Attorney Charles N. Milt Hollingsworth, residing about three miles southwest of here, who has been on the sick list for a long time, was in town last Saturday. He is very weak and barely able to get around. Miss Stella Branson, a teacher in the Manual Training school of Glen wood, NL, is the guest of Miss Serena Mack of Chicago, who is here, the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Mack. Prof. J. W. Kendall, superintendent of the Middletown. Ind. schools, spent Saturday and Sunday in New port, visiting friends. Prof. Kendall was formerly superintendent of the Newport schools. Daniel J. Brown of Eugene town ship transacted business at the county seat last Friday afternoon. He was accompanied by Miss Pearl Fultz, who came down to visit her brother, Attorney Charles N. Fultz. Charles White, 32, and Susan B. Evans, 31, colored, both of Clinton, were married at the office of the cir cuit clerk at this place last Thursday. ‘The ceremony was performed by Rev. E. M. Freeman of the M. E. church. Sam Gaines, 31, a miner of Hills dale, and Ella Mason, 21, of the same place were married at the clerk’s office at this place, Saturday morning, the ceremony being performed by Rev. E. M. Freeman of the M. E. church. Mrs. O. L. Brown, two miles south of town,accompanied by her daugh ter, Miss Blanch, and son, Loyd, went ,up to Danville, IL, Friday afternoon ,to spend Saturday and Sunday with Mrs. Nellie King, a half-sister of her husband.
