TcronrwiEMAB RAN CE.—There will be ameetmv of the friends of Temperance?, on the afternoon and evening of Friday* the 9th of Augustnext* at the 1st Presbyterian Church in this village, commencing at 3 o'clock P. M. It is hoped that all who are friendly to the Temperance reform, and Clergymen of the different denominations in particular will attend. It is expected that the Hon. Elisha Taylor, Chairman Executive Committee of the State Society, will be present• and that the afternoon will be devoted to business arrangements, choosing delegates to the Semi-Annual Meeting at Rochester. During the evening, some addresses will be made by several of the advocates of the cause.In view of what has been achieved in thiscause in other places, that are far behind us inintelligence and moral influence, and in view ofthe evidently increasing influence of the evilsand horrors of intemperance, it is high time for us to awake out of sleep.The friends of Temperance in this county are requested to send one delegate from each school district, to the Semi-Annual meeting at Rochester on the 14th of August next, as business of importance will be transacted.A.
