/Klubertanz, Charles RayCOTTAGE GROVE-Chafies Ray Klubertanz, age 72, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on Oct, 29,1944, in Madison, the son of Cyril and Harriet Klubertanz. He married Carol Wolf on Dec. 30,1968, in Madison.He was married to the love of his lifefor 49 years.Charles graduated from Madison East High School in 1962. After graduation. he joined the U.S. Army and served for four years. He thoroughly enjoyed his military time while he was stationed in Hawaii. He soon after began his job at Oscar Mayer, where he spent 33 years until he retired in 2000. Charles was an avid Packers, Badgers, and Brewers fan. if he couldn't watch the game he always had it on his radio along with plenty commentary of his own. His love for baseball was especially great, as there wasn't an old ball diamond in Dane County he hadn't played on.His family was the most important to him. He loved giving rides on his golf cart to anyone who would stop by. The grandchildren especially enjoyed the rides on “Papa’s cart. They were his pride and joy. Early on Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies. Gus, was hts first and oniy hunting dog, whom he trained himself. He also had a love for German Shepherds. Carol and he had seven of them all together! Another hobby of Charles was his yard. He always made sure it looked immaculate. He especially loved the daisies out front.Charles is survived by the love of his life, Carol; his daughters, Carmen Klubertanz (Eddie Amoros) of Springfield, Va., and Angela Klubertanz of Cottage Grove; his son, Deron Klubertanz (Christina) also of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jada, Sofia, and Sky; and sisters. Carole Ulsaver, Delores Haak (Ken), Joyce Krogman, and Marion Hernandez (Gary). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, andmany close friends.The family would tike to thank Dr. Campbell and his staff at the UWCarbone Cancer Center. Also to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for then-constant availability and support during Charles’ stay at home and then at Agrace.A memorial service will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison, on Friday, Aug. 11,2017, beginning at noon. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday form 10 a.m. until the time of service.
