Mrs. George Polk and son, Edwin, of Ben Lomond, were trading in Ashdown, Wednesday. Fay Meredith of De the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. R. Bowles. Mrs. G D. Gathright is visiting rela tives and friends at Newport and other Arkansas points. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Henderson of Texarkana were Ashdown visitors Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. W. O. Sims is at Hot Springs enjoying a visit. She will probably return home this week. Homer Welch, of the Kolb Welch store, will leave Saturday for St. Louis to buy goods for the star Prof. W. Pittman has returned from Fayetteville, where he has been attemping the summer school for tea chers, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Black, who are spending their honeymoon in Pitts burg, Kansas, are expected to return home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Briant and their children eft this week for their vaca tion. They will motor to Little Rock and other points. Little Miss Eliabeth Martin had the misfortune of misplacing her el bow Wednesday, when she fell from the top of the barn. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Brim of Oak Grove, Mo., are visiting the family of P. M. Wood at Red Bluff. Mr. Brim is a brother of Mrs. Wood. Dan and Sid Phillips left Wednes day for Memp! where they expect to buy a new of fixtures for their drug store on Main street. Mrs. Frank Norwood of Lockesburg has been visiting her sisters, Mes dames A. D. DuLaney and C. L. Briant and Miss Juliette Corbett, this week. R. P. Lindsay has purchased four residence lots near the school building through the Lon T. Jones agency, and will probably build a residence there soon. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Melton of Long view, Texas, arrived Wednesday for a visit with their daughter, Mrs. R. M. Bone. They made the trip by automo bile. Mrs. J. E. Locke, who is spending the summer months at Shreveport, spent Sunday in Ashdown. She was accompanied by her brother, Burt Hicks, also of Shreveport. S. J. Myer left Wednesday for the eastern markets, where he will buy the fall goods for Rosenzweig's store, after which he will join his wife at St. Paul, Minn. They will return home September 1st. Mrs. B. J. Chamberlain and little daughter, Bendette, left Wednesday for their home in Dallas, Texas, after a visit with Mrs. Chamberlain's par ent’s, Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Fawcett. Miss Mary Fawcett returned home with them. W. L. Perkins arrived in Ashdown, this week and will again make this his home. The other members of the fam ily are motoring through from Aber deen, Miss., and will arrive soon. Mr. Perkins as an Ashdown live wire of long standing. He and his fam ily will be welcomed on their return home.
