Dr. Curb SelectedFor HonorDr. Rosemary Curb, former assistant professor of English at Missouri Southern State College, has been notified that she has been elected treasurer of the Society for the Study of Multi-Ethnic Literature in the United States (MELUS).The society is designed to promote cultural diversity in American literature It publishes a quarterly journal in which a variety of critical approaches to ethnic literature are presented.The society also sponsors panels on ethnic literature at national meetings of literary and cultural organizations. Earlier this year, Dr. Curb served as chairperson of the MELUS panel at the Popular Culture Association Conference in Pittsburgh, Penn., and also presented a paper.Dr. Curb is currently working on a book entitled, “The Decade ofDR CU KbRevolution: Afro-American Plays in the 1960s,” under contract from Columbia University Press, New York. The book, which will be published in 1980, is related to Dr. Curb’s doctoral dissertation entitled, “The Idea of the American Dream in Afro-American Plays of the 1960s.” Additionally, she will have a paper published in Theatre Journal, the publication of the American Theatre Association
