Bridal Shower Compliments Miss Childs July 22ndA bridal shower complimented Miss Marlete Childs Th-urdav evening, July 22, preceding her wedding to John Ross at :30 p.m. on July 31 in the First Baptist Church.The home of Mr- . Dudley Davis, 305 Pine Street was the scene of the party where friends and relatives called between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. Serving with Mrs. Davis as co-hostesses were Mmes. E,N. Rogers, Raymond Bartle, Bob Pinkston, Johnny Palmer and Miss L ida Cooper.Welcomed at the door by Mrs. Davis, the guests were then received by Mrs. Auvy Childs, the bride-elect’s mother, the honoree, Mrs. J.B. Ross, mother of the bridegroom and Mrs. Joe Peacock, aunt of the bridegroom.Sharon Pinkston presided at the registry' where the names of those attending were en-scribed in a soft white leather Bride's Book embossed in silver. On the table was placed a miniture bride adorned in a bouffant skirt and flowing net veil.Miss Ha7el Weaver, aunt of the honoree , directed the guests to the four reception rooms displaying the lovely gifts, which were complimented with arrangements of summer flowers. Also as. sisting in party courtesies were Miss Syble Shilling and Miss Patricia Dean.Embroidery encircled the cut out designs of the impor ecru tablecloth overlaying the refreshment table.
